Occupational Therapy Meets Organization
As a trained Occupational Therapist, Angie has over 10 years of experience working with working with children, families, and elderly adults helping them improve their independence and function. Through her work in public schools and home health, Angie became increasingly passionate about physical spaces and their impact on emotional well-being. Function&Flow Home Organizing was created to directly address this need.
Grief-Informed Organizing: Compassion through Experience
As an organizer, Angie understands firsthand how grief can impact every area of our life and how overwhelming it can feel to move forward after significant loss. After losing her mother to an illness in 2005, she embarked on the journey of helping her dad organize her childhood home. Not only was her whole world drastically altered, but she was now tasked with going through her mom’s belongings. She knows how easy it is for “stuff” to accumulate and take over our lives. This can feel debilitating both emotionally and physically.
In 2024, Angie completed a 3-month grief educator training program with David Kessler, who is a grief expert, author and speaker known for his work on loss and healing. This course deepened Angie’s understanding of the role grief plays in our ability to complete everyday tasks and how it can manifest in our physical spaces. Angie offers services to individuals/families who’ve experienced loss of any kind and are looking to regain control of their lives and feel more peaceful in their homes. Angie is dedicated to providing a compassionate and relaxed approach to the organizing process.
Angie is a native Portlander and is committed to enhancing the community where she lives. She is very active in her Buy Nothing community and getting donated items to people in need.
